For as long as I have worked for myself as a designer, movies and box sets have been an integral part of my working day. And just to give you an idea of how long that is, I literally watched box sets…on VHS! And the reason they have been part of my day is twofold: they keep me ‘company’ as I beaver away working from home on my own and they serve as a way for me to measure the amount of time I spend on a project. I’ve just always found having a movie or series on in the background to be incredibly helpful.
And as most of us will find ourselves knitting (or crocheting) in front of the television at some point, I have decided to seek out the very best Knitflix for you. These are movies or box sets where crafting and viewing combine to provide a thoroughly pleasant experience.
My aim is not to provide an intellectual review of a film or series, but rather give an overview with the key reasons why you can work away merrily on your project and, at the same time, know what is happening on your telly, laptop or tablet. At the end of each Knitflix review, I will give a Knitflix rating from 5 skeins for the very best knitting and viewing experience, through to 1 skein where there won’t be much crafting going on (there were probably subtitles!).
Currently, I aim to update this section of the blog every fortnight.. I’ve got a fairly long list of things to watch and once I get this series integrated better into my schedule, I will try and be as seasonal as possible. But if you have any movie or box set suggestions for me to include, just comment below, drop me a DM on Instagram or send me an email.
This series is meant to be a bit of fun, but I do hope that you find it enjoyable and useful. And maybe we can all discover something new to watch whilst we’re crafting away!
Until next time, happy knitting!
