Well, it’s nearly time for the Hogs Swatch Cowl pattern launch!
This pattern has been nearly a year in the making and is a homage to one of my favourite Discworld novels by Sir Terry Pratchett: Hogfather. The pattern is the basis for The Hogs Swatch Cowl KAL that starts on New Year’s Day, and will be going on general sale on Wednesday. Of course, you don’t have to join in with the KAL, you can just knit it on its own, but if you do want to join in and you didn’t purchase one of the Hogs Swatch Cowl kits, then you will have plenty of time to sort out your yarn.
For now though the pattern itself will remain shrouded in mystery until it’s launch. Just make sure you’re subscribed to my Substack, my Instagram and Facebook for more updates. But I can tell you to expect a wintery colourwork cowl in DK that is divided over three scenes, each with a small detail that reflects some of the themes that you will find around the power and importance of belief in Hogfather. There are also two versions: The flat knit ‘Swatch’ version and a knit in the round version.
I can also tell you that this is a really fun project. And whether you decide to join in the KAL or not, I hope you will enjoy this pattern as much as I’ve enjoyed designing it.
Until Wednesday…
